Book Review: Meet Cute

Book Review: Meet Cute

This book was such a delightful read. Meet Cute is a collection of short stories centered on the “meet cute” of romantic relationships. (if you are unfamiliar with the term meet cute, you need to watch The Holiday asap). I definitely recommend this as a book to throw in your bag and read whenever you have some time to kill. Because it is short stories (each about 22 pages) it’s an easy one to pick up at random.

The thing that I loved about this book was also the only let down-it is short stories. You may come to love and feel connected to characters and then their stories end after just a few pages. If you are curious about YA authors, this could be a great place to get to know their writing. Most of them I haven’t actually ever read before and these stories were a great introduction.

Despite the whole book being centered on the same concept, none of the the stories or characters felt at all repetitive. I also felt like most of the authors did an excellent job brining their stories to a satisfying conclusion. There wasn’t a single story that I read and thought “that was a pointless read.”  This book promised cuteness and it absolutely delivered.

Mood: Finding valentines day candy marked 75% off on February 15th-surprising, exciting, and absolutely sweet.

Rating: 4/5
